Telfair in Sugar Land is GREAT and growing
Thanks to over 400 of our newest families, Telfair ranks No. 6 in the United States for new-home sales, according to a study released by RCLCO, a national real estate advisory firm. With 412 new homes sold last year, Telfair sales were up 14% over the previous year – the highest increase of any community in the national study.
While it’s nice to make such a prestigious national list, what’s most exciting is the fact that so many homebuyers are discovering the unique lifestyle offered by Telfair. What’s it like to live at Telfair? Read on!
Telfair splashes into summer
Now that the new Telfair Central Pool is open in Telfair, residents are wasting no time enjoying refreshing summer fun. Events organized by TelfairLife include a July 4th Splash Day with bike parade, prizes, games, a DJ and refreshments. And throughout the summer, residents can enjoy a cool series of Dive-In Movies at the pool.
Open daily during swim season, this new water haven includes a resort-style swimming pool, a waterslide tower, a spray park, a water playground and shaded areas. It is part of the first phase of the Telfair Central Community Center complex, which will offer residents 25 acres of fun and recreation when completed.
Telfair awards college scholarships
The Telfair commitment to quality education doesn’t end when residents graduate from the community’s top-notch Fort Bend ISD schools. TelfairLife also awards college scholarships to young residents who show leadership qualities and academic excellence.
The first three winners – Supriya Aggarwal, Tabish Dhukka and Chiwendu “Carl” Nnaji – each won a $2,000 scholarship. The financial aid will help each young Telfair resident pursue his or her dream – Carl wants to earn his law degree, Tabish dreams of becoming a nurse or doctor, and Supriya has plans for a career in business.
TelfairLife funds the annual scholarship program, which is administered by the non-profit Fort Bend Education Foundation.
Save the Date
Telfair will come alive with the sounds of the world this fall, when the first annual Telfair International Music Festival takes place on Saturday, Oct. 3. Free and open to the public, this event will feature music and dance from Asia, India and (of course) Texas. International food vendors will take taste buds around the world, and there will be a Kid’s Korner with games and activities for the little ones. The festival will take place on the lawn in front of the new Houston Museum of Natural Science branch at Telfair, which plans to open later in October.
