Kelliwood is a community in Katy, Texas, with 9 subdivisions. Kelliwood Terrace is yet another part of this wonderful community that so many Katy residents call home. When purchasing real estate in Katy you are not only looking for the perfect home for your family, but the perfect community to call home. For those that are searching for Katy real estate, Kelliwood Terrace is certainly one of the neighborhoods here to consider.

A “community” is generally defined by the people that live in the area and their common interests, needs, and togetherness. Kelliwood Terrace residents have certainly come together to define their community as one that comes together to help improve the atmosphere of their neighborhood by donating funds to improve the safety of residents and children, fences, the community park, landscaping, signs, and so much more.

In fact, a butterfly garden with shrubs, beautiful plants, and flowers, was paid for and planted by residents of Kelliwood Terrace. In addition, other flower beds have been revitalized and a doggie bag dispenser was added at the park, all with donations from Kelliwood Terrace homeowners. New benches, a bike rack, and walking trails were also added in recent years with donations from Cinco Mud #3. With the help of residents and the association, the 3 acre park in Kelliwood Terrace is continuing to see improvements throughout the years.

While some of these improvements have relied on donations from residents, other improvements have also been made that were paid for by the association. In 2002, some wood fences were replaced with brick fences not only adding safety and privacy, but beauty. Streetlights were also installed to help light the way for drivers to prevent accidents and a new stop light was also added for safety purposes.

Of course, it’s not all work and no play at Kelliwood Terrace. Residents also take time to enjoy having some fun as well. In fact, next Tuesday is such a day!

On Tuesday, October, 7, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm neighbors of Kelliwood Terrace will come together to enjoy a “Night at the Park” with family and friends. Activities include:

• simulated fire trailer-teaches how to escape a home fire
• fun jumper
• discussions about crime and safety
• finger printing kits
• door prizes
• Bring lawn chairs
• Turn on your porch light -shows unity
