Great Southwest Equestrian Center
Katy Texas is the home of the Great Southwest Equestrian Center. This is a true multipurpose event center which is primarily used to present many of the most prestigious horse shows in the nation. With a heritage dating back more than 20 years, the center is a major attraction of the Houston area.
Each year the center hosts over 80 different horse shows, from local events to full international showcases. Comprising of four indoor areas and five open air arenas this is the largest equestrian center in Texas. The main arena is over 5,000 square feet in size and has seating for 4,000 people. There are a full range of horse shows with a full spectrum of event types represented such as roping shows, barrel racing, dressage shows, livestock shows and traditional rodeos. The center is also available for hire for private event hosting and it also has office space for rent.
One of the best kept secrets in Katy Texas is The Artful Home retail store, which can be found within the Great Southwest Equestrian Center grounds. This wonderful mixture of antiques and wall art has a charming ambience all of its own. A full range of English, French and American antiques can be found for sale within its walls along with huge selections of hanging art.
